“I love THE MYSTERY OF NEW WITCH, NEW YORK. I read a few chapters every morning. I am finding the story, the characters, and the world you've imagined utterly delightful. I am with you every step, every wing beat, every opening flower of the way. The story engages all my senses and extra senses. I love all the characters. Witch Hazel's quotation ' Nature is not a backdrop to our existence. Nature is the vessel from which we are poured into being,' knocked my socks off. Seeing nature as a backdrop is one of the human errors we need to heal. And this book does that. There is no backdrop, no passive stage setting to be moved or forgotten, as Bella reminds us. Everything is alive! Thank you Roberta Baum, for your brilliant, imaginative, healing vision."

“A visionary recipe for our future. I want to live inside this book!

" It's been hard to leave the fantastically imaginative spell of THE MYSTERY OF NEW WITCH, NEW YORK. Roberta Baum so fully embodies the world of New Witch, above New York City, that every being and every object (and every recipe, perfume, potion, and gem) has a soul and a life of its own. With a light but incisive touch the ways she creates this almost unbelievably ingenious universe are also an act of personal generosity - such empathy, humor, and hope! She also brings many aspects of her lifetime (so far) of knowledge and experience to bear .. of music (listen on her website to her range-transcendent original compositions and chants to jazz standards with brilliant vocal improvisation), of Lenape language and history, of food, botany, bees, herbs, potions, of love, and more-magical. "
